This 17 Day Tour showcases the absolute best of New Zealand’s South Island. Our carefully crafted itinerary allows you swim, bike and run along the way, to maintain your fitness during the tapering phase and to really experience this wonderful location.


Whether it’s alps to ocean, breathtaking lakes, ancient rainforest or golden sand beaches, New Zealand’s South Island boasts unrivaled diversity. Come and explore the absolute best of this wonderful destination on the way to the hugely popular Challenge Wanaka Triathlon Festival.

Starting in Christchurch you will have the ideal perspective to experience the natural surrounds as we run, swim and cycle in the garden city’s most scenic locations. Explore the beautiful Banks Peninsula and take an intriguing tour of this rejuvenating historic city.


Day 3 begins the journey through the iconic Southern Alps. Walk among towering limestone and waterfalls of Arthur’s Pass National Park. Lace up your shoes for one of the best trail runs in the world as we run among Kaarst peaks and New Zealand most stunning rain-forest.


Days 4 and 5 take us north to the golden sand beaches of the Abel Tasman National Park. Join for a group swim in emerald green water of Kaiteriteri Beach. Take a thrilling Aqua-taxi deep into the beach-ladened park before embarking on a wonderful trail run back to the start.


Day 6 takes us inland to the alpine township of Hanmer Springs. Get your wheels in motion with a group brick in this quaint mountain valley and opt for a relaxing soak in New Zealand’s premier thermal pools.


Day 7 takes us to where the alps meet the ocean at the incredible marine environment of Kaikoura. Take a scenic group run around the peninsula walkway and fur seal colony. Choose to swim with dolphins or whale watch with these majestic animals in their natural environment.


Days 8 and 9 bring the journey to the small towns of Methven and Twizel which sit adjacent to the highest mountain peaks in New Zealand. The queen stage of the tour travels beside New Zealand’s most breathtaking lake and climaxes with a group cycle in the shadows of the mightiest of peaks, Mt Cook.


Days 10, 11 and 12 takes us to the remarkably stunning Queenstown, adventure capital of the world! Hit the lap pool for a group swim session, opt for a thrill seeking adventure or simply rest and relax in preparation for the big event. Enjoy an evening steam boat cruise and dinner on the historic TSS Earnslaw. Join the group for a full day excursion into the incredible Fiordland National Park and embark on a guided nature cruise of the famous Milford Sound.


Days 13, 14 and 15 deliver us to the picturesque alpine race location of Wanaka. Familiarise with the bike course and take a swim in lake Wanaka in preparation of the big day. Enjoy free time to absorb the race atmosphere and focus on the task at hand while enjoying this stunning race setting.

Days 16 and 17 return us to the South Islands largest city of Christchurch. Celebrate with the group and share a final farewell meal together.

Day 2 - Christchurch - Sun 4 Feb

Swim, bike and sightseeing

0830 – Harbour swim Corsair Bay followed by bike around Long Bays, 2hrs

1200 – Return to hotel for showers

1300 – Drop off in town for lunch

1400 – Walking tour of city and free time

Day 3 - Greymouth - Mon 5 Feb

Castle Hill, Arthur’s Pass, Punakaiki run

1600 – Drive to Punakaiki pancake rocks

1645 – Trail run Porarari river and Thompson track
